Building a Future Akade Primary School

Akade is our most current Building a Future project. We aim to restore a roof – the project is up and running again after Sri Lanka, as many other countries, faced lockdown during the pandemic.

Funding for this project was brought up during our pub quiz which was organized at OGD late last year.

Read more about this project below.

Restoring a roof

Our Building a Future projects are often very practical in nature. We aim to restore facilities of (primary) schools.

In the case of Akade primary school, this means..

Boost Foundation funded the project by organizing a pub quiz.

How you can help

Although this project is already funded, there are many school in need of support. Help us to restore much needed facilities.

Use any of the donation methods below to help us acquire the funding needed.

How we work

1. Budgeting

We asked our local partner FutureCare a cost estimation with local suppliers.

2. Fundraising

Our minimum target was to collect 1000 euros during the pub quiz organized at OGD. We succeeded by collecting the required funding.

3. Labour

Contracts are made in order to perform the work. Therewith the project also support the local workforces.

4. Updates

We will be in touch to provide updates on the project. During these updates we also collect receipts and photos which are then published on this page.

Questions?

The following section covers one of the most asked questions we get when we execute projects.

Should you not find the question you need an answer to, then please reach out to us by messaging us on info@boostfoundation.eu.

How will the money be spent?

More than 90% of our donations go directly to our projects. In this case, the donations get transferred to our partner in Sri Lanka (FutureCare) who will be in charge of the expenses made for the restorations. They will also send us receipts of their expenses.

What happens with excess donations?

Overhead in donations gets saved in our reserves for new projects – which, for example, allows us to quickly respond to emergency situations; We also always publish our financial reports our transparency page.

How will you check how to project is executed? ?

Please view our project plan, other than that we will keep this page updated with project developments!

Can I Donate?

Yes! Please refer to the Donate button on top of the page!

What about Dutch TAX benefits?

If you are a registered Dutch company, you are eligible to deduct up to 500 euros in donations from your taxes. Please consult this page for more information.

Can I support something else?

Yes you can! ? We also have a project aimed at fighting food shortages as a consequencesof COVID-19 lockdown in Sri Lanka. But that is not all, get in touch with one of us to tell you about the other projects. You can do so by mailing us at info@boostfoundation.eu.

How is Boost Foundation supporting itself?

We are all volunteers who work next to our role in Boost Foundation. As such, we do not transfer anything to our personal accounts. Overhead in donations gets saved in our reserves for new projects – allowing us to quickly respond to emergency situations; which is actually the case for the project on this page!
